RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: Cisheteronormativity refers to the relationship of heterosexual and cisgender privilege stemming from patriarchy. Although studies have shown that cisheteronormativity can impact health outcomes for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and other sexual, gender diverse, and gender nonconforming (LGBTQ+) people, the specific impact on cancer care has not been described. We synthesized the qualitative evidence on how cisheteronormativity impacts the psychosocial experience of LGBTQ+ people with cancer. METHODS: We conducted a historic search in the CINAHL, LGBT+ Health, PsycInfo, and PubMed databases. Qualitative studies that described the psychosocial experience of LGBTQ+ people with cancer were included. After appraising the quality of the publications, 11 articles were included. Then, we conducted inductive nominal coding, taxonomic analysis, and thematic synthesis. RESULTS: Two main themes emerged, (1) Cisheteronormativity as a social determinant of health, and (2) Cancer, sexual orientation, and gender: Associations and introjections. The themes comprise four categories and 13 subcategories that describe the impact of cisheteronormativity on the cancer experience of LGBTQ+ people. CONCLUSION: Cisheteronormativity within the healthcare system impacts the psychosocial experience of LGBTQ+ people with cancer. Understanding how these gender biases, norms, and social expectations impact the cancer experience is necessary to transform social norms and promote health equity.

RESUMEN

In this article, I discuss the concept of 'Decolonizing Nursing', answering what this process is about, and how and when it should be done. I introduce the idea of epistemological dominance and the concepts of colonization and decolonization of nursing knowledge. I describe my experiences of coming from Latin America and facing Anglo-Saxon academy to discuss core disciplinary nursing knowledge and provide reflections around the decolonization of nursing language.

Women have been the major victims of the Colombian armed conflict for more than 50 years. Nowadays, when the country faces an aftermath focused on reconciliation, understanding women's experiences during the conflict is key to providing them tools for social justice and effective fulfilling of their needs. This qualitative synthesis of literature includes publications in Spanish and English of electronic databases over the past 20 years regarding rural women and the Colombian armed conflict. Studies were included for review if they were published between 2000 and 2019, were qualitative peer-reviewed articles, and addressed directly or indirectly the pregnancy process as well as the women's sexual and reproductive health in rural Colombia. Seven of 169 articles initially identified were included for an inductive analysis of categories and themes. After the analysis process, three main themes emerged from the literature: (a) crumbling families, (b) being a woman: the challenges between being a peacemaker and a victim, and (c) protecting and caring of life. These three themes comprise 10 categories and 20 subcategories that provide support to the inductive qualitative synthesis. This review provides a comprehensive synthesis of the Colombian armed conflict focused on the victimization of women. It concludes with reflections about the Colombian women's role in transitioning toward peace.

This thesis is about the research of "Perception of nursing care for pregnant women which assist to the Motherhood and Fatherhood Courses As A Life Project" with the purpose to achieve the Nursing Master degree with emphasis on maternal perinatal care, with pregnant wimen wish made the course in the Hospital San Cristobal Company Social of the State of Bogotá. Introduction: The maternal perinatal care makes part of the worldwide leader programs and part of the development indicators of the Nations; the preparation course for Motherhood and Fatherhood has become into an important tool for the nursing professional; therefore it is needed to know which is the perception about the nursing care by part of the pregnant women, during the development of the preparation course not only to respond their population needs, but also to answer the conceptual needs related to nursing and its own disciplinary core. Objective: Describe the perception that the pregnant women have about the caring given by the Nursing professionals through the preparation course for Motherhood and Fatherhood applied in the E.S.E. in San Cristóbal in the city of Bogotá. Methodology: Qualitative, descriptive and exploratory design, made by means of the Laurence Bardin's content analysis technique through controlled hermeneutics in the semi-structured interviews made to 14 pregnant women who assist to the Motherhood and Fatherhood preparation course. Results: In the main topic "The immersed, present and latent nursing care in the preparation course" which arises from the categories' analysis, it is found that the pregnant women feel themselves cared by the nurses in the preparation course, taking into account three fundamental aspects: Companion, Recognition and Learning about caring. The nursing care makes fundamental part of the preparation course, because a course given without any interventions of nursing, can become in another workshop and in a masterly lecture, which does not represent any value for the participants and which has not transcendence to any experience in the gestation. It is expressed on the expectant women interviews, the five essential caring ontological categorizations described by Morse, which defines the caring as a human characteristic, a moral principle, an affliction, a nursering therapeutical action and as an interpersonal or interactive personal relationship, which confirm the statement made by the pregnant women who perceive the nursing care in the preparation course, and it is demonstrated and expressed in the nursing interventions, that are transmitted by means of the empathy when the nurse put on the pregnant woman place, creating a interpersonal bridge for which the aims of the nursing care in the course, go through the barriers that can be imposed by the participant which could limit the effectiveness and efficacy of the nursing interventions. Conclusions: The pregnant women who assist to the preparation course of Motherhood and Fatherhood, notice the caring given by the nurse and recognize it as a fundamental aspect of the course itself, the pregnant women claim the nursing intervention, because the nurse recognizes their care needs and the women see in the nurse professional, a person with a humanistic formation able to understand and execute actions which tend for the well-being of their gestation and the caring for the coupling mother-son, which is about to born.
